About the Role

Our client, a major infrastructure development firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Systems Installer to join their team in Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is integral to the successful installation and commissioning of complex electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and utility projects. You will be responsible for leading installation crews, ensuring adherence to safety standards, interpreting complex electrical schematics, and overseeing the physical installation of wiring, control panels, and power distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in large-scale electrical installations and possess strong leadership qualities. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical codes and regulations, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and reliable electrical infrastructure in the Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and direct teams of electricians and technicians in the installation of electrical systems. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications for complex electrical installations. Install, terminate, and test a wide range of electrical components, including conduits, wiring, switchgear, transformers, and control panels. Ensure all installations comply with national electrical codes, safety standards, and project requirements. Oversee the setup and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution and control circuits. Perform quality control checks to ensure work is completed to a high standard. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment. Manage materials and equipment required for installation projects. Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other trades on site. Provide training and mentorship to junior installation personnel.

Requirements

Extensive experience as an Electrical Installer or Electrician, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or supervisory capacity. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Strong knowledge of national electrical codes (e.g., SANS) and safety regulations. Experience with various types of electrical installations, including high-voltage and low-voltage systems. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical installation issues. Must possess relevant electrical trade qualifications (e.g., Wireman's License). Good physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various site conditions in Vereeniging, Gauteng . Valid driver's license. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
