Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Electrical Services Engineer for a client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and infrastructure projects.

You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with SANS and regulations, and collaborate with clients and architects from concept through construction. Relocation assistance may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical consulting or building services engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, DIALux).
• Extensive knowledge of low and medium voltage distribution systems, power factor correction, and earthing.
• Experience with lighting design and control systems.
• Familiarity with generator systems and UPS applications.
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) designation is highly desirable.
• Experience working in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal or similar industrial/port environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design for building services, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and ELV systems.
• Develop detailed design documentation, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS, electrical regulations, and other relevant building codes.
• Manage electrical engineering aspects of projects from concept to completion.
• Liaise with clients, architects, project managers, and other consultants.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior engineers and technicians.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to site queries during construction.
• Contribute to business development and tender preparation activities.
