Placements24 is assisting a leading agricultural processing company in Bloemfontein to hire a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician. The role focuses on maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring maximum uptime in an industrial setting.

You will read schematics, work with PLCs and VFDs, and perform preventative maintenance while adhering to safety standards. This is a hands-on position requiring a proactive, team-oriented technician capable of prioritizing, shifts,

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a relevant trade certificate (e.g., Wireman's license, NQF Level 4 Electrical Trade).
• Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Experience with industrial control systems, motor controls and VFDs; reading schematics.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to work shifts and be on standby in Bloemfontein.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in industrial machinery and control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, switchgear, control panels, and lighting.
• Install new electrical equipment and wiring, ensuring code compliance.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motor control systems, and AC/DC circuits.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Provide technical support to maintenance staff.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and ensure rapid resolution.
