Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a major manufacturing facility in Upington, Northern Cape. Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years in industrial electrical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of high- and low-voltage systems.
- Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and VFDs.
- LOTO and safety standards familiarity.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Willingness to work shifts/overtime.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment including motors, panels, PLCs, VFDs, and sensors.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company policies.
- Respond to emergency maintenance and troubleshoot critical failures.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to solve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and parts inventories.
- Assist in developing new maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for plant reliability.
