Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Electrical Installation Specialist for Cape Town and the Western Cape. You will oversee electrical installation activities on renewable energy projects, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery.

Lead on-site teams, interpret schematics, adhere to SANS 10142-1, coordinate grid connections, and mentor junior electricians while maintaining thorough project records and materials management.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electrical installations for renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems and protection schemes.
• Ability to lead install teams and manage projects.
• Familiarity with South African electrical regulations (SANS 10142-1).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise on-site electrical installation teams.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Manage installation of solar components, inverters, batteries.
• Oversee grid connection procedures with utilities.
• Inspect and test installations for function and safety.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during installation.
• Maintain project documentation and material logs.
• Procure and manage materials; mentor junior staff.
• Provide technical guidance to junior electricians.
