Placements24 is seeking a Substation Engineer in Mossel Bay to design, engineer, and implement substation projects within the power distribution sector. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and industry standards, contributing to regional energy reliability.

You will lead design reviews, develop engineering drawings, and coordinate with vendors during construction, commissioning, and testing, with a flexible hybrid work setup in Mossel Bay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in substation design/engineering within power distribution.
• Strong knowledge of substation components, protection relays, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer substation layouts, including transformers, switchgear, busbars, and protection systems.
• Develop single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and physical layouts for substations.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international energy standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Manage technical aspects of substation construction, commissioning, and testing phases.
• Review vendor designs and equipment submittals.
• Troubleshoot and support existing substation assets.
