Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer specialized in Renewable Energy to support global solar and wind projects from Bloemfontein. This is a fully remote role, enabling work with a leading green energy company on grid integration and technical viability of large-scale assets.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems or Renewable Energy, 7+ years of relevant experience, and strong proficiency in PSS/E, PowerFactory, and SAM.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
• 7+ years of dedicated experience in electrical engineering for renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software (PSS/E, PowerFactory, SAM).
• In-depth understanding of inverter technology, energy storage, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Experience in due diligence and technical assessments for renewable energy assets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering of utility-scale solar PV and wind energy projects.
• Perform complex power system studies, including grid interconnection analysis, stability studies, and protection coordination.
• Specify balance of plant electrical equipment, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
• Collaborate with project development teams, EPC contractors, and utility stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with relevant international and South African electrical standards and grid codes.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on emerging technologies in the renewable energy sector.
