Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Durban-based operations team in the energy sector. The role focuses on design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems within power generation facilities, ensuring reliability and safety while supporting critical regional infrastructure.

You will collaborate with project managers, technicians, and vendors, prepare specifications and drawings, and assist with commissioning of new equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years in electrical engineering focusing on power generation or heavy industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for power generation plants.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform root-cause analysis.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections per standards.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and maintenance docs.
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and vendors.
• Assist in commissioning new equipment and verify performance in Durban.
