Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Sandton to lead electrical design for major projects. You will manage timelines, budgets, and resources while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with architects, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA.
• 8+ years in electrical engineering design and project management.
• Experience leading electrical design for complex projects (commercial, hospital, industrial).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, DIALux.
• Strong power systems, distribution, protection, lighting, and building automation knowledge.
• Excellent leadership, PM, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to perform site visits.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, specification, and project management of electrical systems across projects (power distribution, lighting, standby power, LV).
• Ensure designs meet national/international standards (SANS) and regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, calculations, and reports.
• Conduct site investigations, inspections, and commissioning.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Review design documents, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Stay updated on latest electrical engineering practices.
• Provide technical consultation to clients and stakeholders.
