Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Systems Designer to lead the design of complex electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and infrastructural projects in Gauteng. You will create layouts, schematics and specifications while ensuring compliance with SA codes and standards.

The role requires a track record in electrical design, strong leadership, and collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams. A Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng is preferred, with hybrid work flexibility in Benoni region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in electrical systems design for buildings and infrastructure.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SA codes, standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process from concept to construction documentation.
• Develop designs for power distribution, lighting, earthing and lightning protection.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and calculations using industry tools.
• Coordinate designs with multi-disciplinary teams and consultants.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and manage design timelines.
