Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on design, implementation, and management of complex electrical systems for heavy industries and automation projects.

Lead design projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across installations. Hybrid work model and diverse project exposure in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial applications.
• Experience in power distribution design, PLC/SCADA, and motor control.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and electrical safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution networks, motor control centers, and instrumentation.
• Oversee the specification and selection of electrical equipment and components.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant South African national standards (SANS) and international electrical codes.
• Manage project timelines and budgets for electrical engineering scopes of work.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and commissioning activities to verify installation and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during design, construction, and operation.
• Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering technology, automation, and energy efficiency.
