Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer for a manufacturing client in Benoni, Gauteng. This hybrid role combines on-site engineering with remote strategic planning to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems.

You will design, install, and maintain electrical infrastructure, lead projects, mentor technicians, and ensure compliance with safety standards in a hybrid work model.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on industrial electrical engineering experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Proficiency in electrical schematics and CAD tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN).
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, VFDs, and SCADA systems.
• Understanding of power distribution, motor control, and electrical safety standards.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Hybrid work experience and effective remote communication.
• Professional registration with ECSA is an advantage.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing is beneficial.

Aufgaben

• Design, implement, and maintain electrical systems, control panels, and automation solutions for industrial machinery and processes.
• Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications using CAD software.
• Oversee electrical installations, modifications, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with design, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and diagnostic testing of electrical equipment, identifying potential failures and implementing preventative maintenance strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical faults and operational issues affecting production.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize electrical system performance and efficiency.
• Manage electrical project budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships for assigned tasks and small projects.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical technicians and engineers.
• Stay updated with advancements in industrial electrical technology and recommend improvements.
