Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of complex electrical systems for industrial automation in Soweto, Gauteng. You will translate client requirements into reliable electrical solutions, ensuring safety and performance across projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years of experience in industrial automation, and strong PLC/HMI/SCADA skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical system design for industrial automation.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Knowledge of safety standards for industrial control systems (IEC, SANS) and CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and systems for industrial automation applications.
• Develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software.
• Select appropriate electrical components, including PLCs, drives, motors, sensors, and control devices.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning on-site or at client locations.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards (IEC, SANS) and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues during project execution.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure project success.
• Provide technical support and documentation for installed systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in electrical design and automation principles.
