Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in electrical engineering, 4+ years in renewables.
• Pr.Eng. registration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects, from concept to detailed design.
• Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, AC/DC system designs, and protection philosophies.
• Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and grid interconnection studies.
• Specify major electrical equipment, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, battery systems, and cabling.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant grid codes, IEC standards, and client requirements.
• Collaborate closely with civil, structural, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure integrated project design.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, and tender documents.
• Review designs and proposals from EPC contractors and equipment suppliers.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the electrical design of utility-scale renewable energy power plants.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC systems, power electronics, grid integration, and protection schemes for renewables.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools (e.g., PVSyst, ETAP, AutoCAD).
• In-depth knowledge of relevant international standards (IEC) and grid codes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage complex design tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly desirable.
