• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design packages for utility-scale and distributed solar PV and BESS projects.
• Create single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Perform electrical calculations including load flow, short-circuit analysis, and grounding design.
• Specify electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, and protection devices.
• Ensure designs comply with SANS and IEC codes and standards.
• Collaborate with civil/structural engineers and mechanical designers for system integration.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure quality control of electrical deliverables.
• Stay updated with latest renewable energy electrical design practices.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers.
