Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Electrical Design and Control Engineer to join their Upington team. The role blends electrical system design with development of control systems for automated processes and machinery, including programming PLCs and HMIs to meet project specs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in electrical design and industrial automation, with proficiency in Siemens or Allen-Bradley platforms and exposure to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design and industrial automation.
Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development.
Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and motor control.
Experience with Profibus / Ethernet/IP and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

Design electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for industrial automation projects.
Select and specify electrical components, PLCs, HMIs, and other control system hardware.
Develop, program, and test PLC logic and HMI interfaces for automated processes.
Troubleshoot and commission electrical and control systems on-site, ensuring seamless integration.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
