Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Electrical Engineer specialized in Automation to join our Pretoria team on-site. You will design, implement, and maintain automated electrical systems, coordinating with manufacturing and engineering colleagues to deploy control solutions.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering with automation focus and 3–5 years of industrial automation experience, including PLC programming and HMI development, plus strong motor control knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with a focus on automation.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI development.
• Strong understanding of motor control, VFDs, robotics, and industrial networking protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial automation, including PLC programming and HMI configuration.
• Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for automated machinery and processes.
• Specify and select electrical components, sensors, and actuators for automation applications.
• Install, commission, and troubleshoot automated electrical systems on the factory floor.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and technicians to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
• Provide technical support and training to operations personnel on automated equipment.
