Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Electrical Engineer specializing in Industrial Automation for our Vereeniging facility. You will design, implement, and maintain automated control systems to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity across manufacturing processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with automation focus and at least five years of experience. You will work with Siemens and Allen‑Bradley PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and safety SIS standards, collaborating with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with automation specialization.
Minimum of 5 years in industrial automation engineering.
Proficiency with major PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA.
Strong understanding of motor control, robotics, and sensor technologies.
Experience with electrical schematics, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Knowledge of SIS and functional safety standards.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement automated control systems using PLCs, HMIs and SCADA.
Troubleshoot and maintain automation equipment for optimal performance.
Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with production teams to identify automation improvements.
Manage electrical aspects of capital projects including procurement and installation.
Ensure automation systems meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
