Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Centurion to design, develop and implement electrical control systems for industrial automation projects. You will work with engineers and technicians to deliver reliable, safe and efficient automation solutions for manufacturing processes.

The role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering, experience with PLCs and HMI systems, and knowledge of NFPA 79 and IEC 60204. On-site work and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Proven experience in industrial automation and control system design.
Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development.
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA 79, IEC 60204).
Experience with CAD software for electrical design.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Design electrical schematics and control panel layouts for automated machinery and production lines.
Select appropriate components such as PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.
Program and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI systems.
Develop and implement electrical safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
Provide on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases.
