Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Senior Educational Psychologist to join their team in George, Western Cape. The role focuses on supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development across partner schools, with emphasis on evidence-based practice and proactive wellbeing.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, provide individual and group counseling, develop intervention plans, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create effective supports.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or a related field.
• Registered with South African Council for Psychologists.
• Minimum 7 years of supervised experience in an educational setting.
• Expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention for children and adolescents.
• Strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments to identify learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and emotional challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans for students.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling to support student wellbeing.
• Consult with teachers, parents, and school administrators to foster a supportive environment.
• Design and deliver workshops on child development and mental health for staff and parents.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with ethical guidelines.
