Placements24 is seeking a Senior Educational Technology Manager for a prominent Sandton campus. The role blends on-site leadership with remote coordination, overseeing LMS, collaboration tools, and digital content platforms to drive teaching and learning innovation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, 8+ years in EdTech management (4+ in leadership), and a track record of large-scale implementations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in educational technology management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale EdTech implementations and projects.
• Deep understanding of LMS, enterprise IT infrastructure, and digital learning strategies.
• Strong leadership, team management, and project management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in a hybrid or flexible work environment.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles relevant to educational institutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for educational technology across the institution.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of educational technology specialists and support staff.
• Oversee the procurement, implementation, integration, and maintenance of all educational technology systems, including LMS, collaboration tools, and digital content platforms.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of educational technology infrastructure.
• Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, and IT departments to identify needs and opportunities for technological enhancement in teaching and learning.
• Develop and manage the budget for educational technology initiatives.
• Establish and enforce policies and procedures for the effective and ethical use of educational technology.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide high-level technical support and guidance to stakeholders.
