Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Early Years Program Manager & Educator to oversee a childcare program in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role combines leadership with hands-on teaching, curriculum development, and day-to-day operations to ensure high standards of care and education.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, at least five years of experience (two in supervision), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and program management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early learning.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing administrative and direct care tasks.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Must be adaptable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Residency in or willingness to relocate to Polokwane, Limpopo.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the early years program.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging and age-appropriate curriculum.
• Supervise and mentor a team of early childhood educators.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct staff training and professional development sessions.
• Plan and lead educational activities for children.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding program activities and child development.
• Manage program budget and resources efficiently.
• Observe children's progress and provide guidance to educators on assessment.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
