Placements24 in Polokwane, Limpopo is seeking a Senior E-commerce SEO Specialist to drive organic growth for an expanding online retail business. The role focuses on both technical SEO and content optimization to boost rankings, traffic, and conversions for e-commerce stores.

You will collaborate with marketing and development teams to implement best practices across the site, stay ahead of search engine updates, and report on performance with actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated SEO experience, with a strong focus on e-commerce.
• Proven track record of increasing organic traffic and conversions for e-commerce.
• In-depth knowledge of technical SEO, on-page, off-page, and local SEO.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or similar.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
• Experience with website analytics and data interpretation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex SEO concepts into actionable recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with content marketing and its integration with SEO is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive e-commerce SEO strategy to increase organic search visibility and traffic.
• Conduct in-depth keyword research for product pages, category pages, and blog content.
• Perform technical SEO audits addressing speed, crawlability, indexability, mobile-friendliness, and schema.
• Implement on-page optimization including meta tags, content structure, and internal linking.
• Develop and execute off-page SEO strategies, including link building and brand outreach.
• Monitor SEO performance using analytics tools and dashboards.
• Provide actionable insights to content and development teams to improve UX.
• Stay updated on search algorithm changes and industry best practices.
• Track competitor strategies and identify differentiation opportunities.
• Generate regular SEO performance reports with key metrics and improvements.
