Placements24 seeks an experienced Lead Drilling Engineer to oversee drilling operations in Randburg. The role focuses on strategic planning, execution, and optimization of drilling campaigns while upholding safety and environmental standards.

You will lead a team of drilling professionals and manage contractor relationships in a hybrid planning and office environment. The position emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and collaboration with service providers to deliver robust drilling

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
10+ years of progressive drilling engineering experience with proven leadership capabilities.
Extensive knowledge of drilling fluids, cementing, well control, directional drilling, and completion technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage comprehensive drilling plans, including well design, casing programs, and directional drilling strategies.
Lead and mentor a team of drilling engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Oversee drilling operations, troubleshoot technical challenges, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
Manage relationships with drilling contractors and service companies, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and performance expectations.
Conduct post-well analysis, evaluate performance, and document lessons learned to enhance future operations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
