Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Drilling Engineer for our client in Kimberley, Northern Cape to lead complex well design and execution. You will develop drilling programs, select equipment, and manage risks to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective well completions.

The role requires 8+ years in drilling engineering, expertise in directional drilling, well control, casing design and cementing, plus strong leadership and collaboration with geologists and reservoir engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive drilling engineering experience with focus on complex well design.
• IWCF level certifications or equivalent are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan complex well trajectories (directional, horizontal, multilateral).
• Develop detailed drilling programs incl. casing/cementing, mud programs and wellbore stability analyses.
• Select and procure drilling equipment, tools, and services.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
• Oversee drilling operations and provide technical support.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
