Placements24 is seeking a highly competent Drilling Engineer to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape. You will plan, design, and supervise drilling operations for complex wells, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The role requires expertise in drilling fluids, cementing, directional drilling, and well control, with a focus on delivering successful campaigns in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 6 years of

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of drilling engineering experience with strong well design focus.
• Experience in designing/executing complex wells (HPHT, deepwater, extended reach).

Responsabilidades

• Design and plan drilling programs for complex wells including exploration, appraisal and development wells.
• Perform hydraulic, cementing, and directional drilling calculations and design.
• Select drilling equipment, tools and services based on well requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for drilling operations.
• Prepare daily drilling and end-of-well reports documenting performance and lessons learned.
• Liaise with rig crews, service companies, and other stakeholders for safe execution.
• Monitor drilling performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Manage drilling-related costs and support budget targets.
• Stay updated with drilling technology advancements.
