Qualifications

• Ability to manage complex drilling projects with operational integrity.

About the Role

Our client, a respected name in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a highly competent Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team. This role will operate under a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, based in or serving operations near Mahikeng, North West . You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in drilling engineering, well design, and risk management, contributing significantly to the company's exploration and production objectives. This is a key position requiring close interaction with field teams and management, supporting vital operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs, well designs, and operational procedures.
• Perform calculations for casing, cementing, and directional drilling plans.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate drilling hazards and operational risks.
• Supervise drilling operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
• Optimize drilling performance by monitoring key parameters and implementing timely adjustments.
• Liaise with service providers to ensure the delivery of quality equipment and technical support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in drilling engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of well control principles, drilling fluids, and directional drilling techniques.
