Job summary

CFW Environmental, part of the CFW Industries group, is seeking a Senior Draughtsman to develop detailed 2D/3D drawings for HVAC and air movement systems. You will produce fabrication drawings and co-ordinate with engineers and production to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.

The role requires proven SolidWorks experience and a diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanical Draughtsman in engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Draughting is advantageous.
• Solid Works experience is essential.
• Sheet metal, fabrication or fan-related product experience is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and components.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications and technical requirements.
• Make design modifications and drawing revisions as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and project specifications.
• Work closely with Engineers, Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams where required.
• Assist with resolving design and manufacturing queries.
• Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and within project deadlines.

The industries we serve include the mining, power generation, industrial processing, agricultural, marine / fishing, poultry, commercial and HVAC sectors.

The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering, we are seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman that can assist with the following tasks:

Experience and Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation environment.
• National Diploma, Diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting would be advantageous.
• Proven Solid Works experience
• Driver's license / own transport
• Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Good understanding of mechanical drawings, manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
• Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.
