Job summary

Persona Staff is seeking a Mechanical Draughtsman to prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for HVAC and air movement systems, and to develop manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings. You will interpret specifications, revise designs, and ensure compliance with standards while collaborating with engineers and production teams.

The role requires SolidWorks experience and a relevant mechanical engineering qualification, with additional advantage given to those with sheet metal/fabrication

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman in engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation environments.
• National Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting would be advantageous.
• Driver's license / own transport; experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
• Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and associated mechanical components.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications and technical requirements.
• Make design modifications and drawing revisions as required.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and project specifications.
• Work closely with Engineers, Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams where required.
• Assist with resolving design and manufacturing queries.
• Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and within project deadlines.
