Placements24 is partnering with a prominent national retailer to appoint an Operations Manager for the Randburg distribution center in Gauteng. You will lead warehouse staff, drive safety, and optimize receiving, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain or related field, 6+ years in warehouse operations, and proficiency with WMS and MS Office. You will monitor KPIs, implement improvements, and collaborate with logistics teams to meet delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in distribution center or warehouse operations management.
• Proven experience in managing large teams in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and cost savings.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Randburg distribution center.
• Manage and lead a team of warehouse supervisors and associates, fostering a culture of performance and safety.
• Ensure efficient and accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize stock discrepancies.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and execute operational plans to meet delivery schedules and customer demands.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the distribution center.
• Manage equipment maintenance and ensure operational readiness.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
