Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Operations Manager to oversee Randburg distribution center operations in Gauteng. You will manage receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory accuracy while leading warehouse staff to achieve targets and continuous improvements.

A strong leader with expertise in WMS and safety is essential. You will implement process improvements, optimize workflows, and collaborate with logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in distribution center or warehouse operations management.
• Proven experience in managing large teams in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Randburg distribution center.
• Manage and lead a team of warehouse supervisors and associates, fostering a culture of performance and safety.
• Ensure efficient and accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize stock discrepancies.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and execute operational plans to meet delivery schedules and customer demands.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the distribution center.
• Manage equipment maintenance and ensure operational readiness.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
