Placements24, Kimberley, a leading national retailer, seeks an experienced Distribution Centre Manager to lead on-site operations. You will optimize receiving, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch, ensuring accuracy, safety and timely delivery to retail outlets.

The role demands strong leadership of a large team, cost control, budgeting, and continuous improvement through WMS and other supply chain technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in distribution centre management or a senior logistics operations role.
• Proven track record managing large-scale warehouse operations and significant teams.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, order fulfillment, and transportation logistics.
• Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant supply chain technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Willing to work on-site at the Kimberley distribution centre.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the distribution centre, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a large team of warehouse staff, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
• Manage inventory accuracy, implement robust control measures, and conduct regular audits.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations within the distribution centre.
• Manage budgets for the distribution centre, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with transportation, procurement, and retail operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain performance.
• Implement and leverage technology, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), to enhance operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and workflows.
