Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to manage warehouse dispatch operations in KwaZulu-Natal. You will ensure SOPs are followed, plan outbound stock and staff, coordinate vehicle bookings, and maintain stock integrity and documentation.

The role requires 5 years in logistics/warehouse, Matric, and a related diploma/degree beneficial. Strong planning and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric
• 5 years of experience in logistics/warehouse
• Diploma/degree in logistics/warehouse/business management beneficial
• Knowledge of warehouse processes and packaging standards
• Knowledge of planning and organising the dispatch process
• Product knowledge

Responsibilities

• Ensure SOPs are known, understood, trained on and maintained for dispatch procedures
• Understand and use the various systems in the business
• Plan outbound stock daily according to volumes
• Plan staff requirements to manage expected volumes
• Ensure picking is planned to meet volume requirements
• Ensure sufficient materials and equipment are available
• Handle stock to maintain condition and packaging
• Investigate discrepancies in documentation, vehicles, seals or products
• Communicate issues with the customer
• Resolve all issues within 24 hours
• Arrange vehicles for dispatch when required
• Handover stock to other operations per system processes
• Ensure loading procedures are carried out correctly
• Ensure dispatched loads are secured prior to departure
• Manage daily WIP reports
• Maintain control of all documentation and filing
• Manage, monitor, action and report dispatch reports to managers
• Analyse dispatch stats to drive action
• Supervise dispatch staff and productivity
• Resource planning to meet operational requirements
• Minimize overtime to exception basis
• Dispatch staff training and on-the-job training
• Dispatch KPIs are known, measured, and reported monthly
• Proactive actions and NCR/NCP/IO processes maintained
• All NCR/NCP/IO closed within lead times (5 working days)
• Maintain Health and Safety standards per OHS Act
• Monthly checks and housekeeping
• Secure assets and maintain loss control policies
• Assets and MHE utilisation
