Placements24 in Nelspruit is seeking a highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and ensure reliability and scalability of applications within Mpumalanga.

The role requires expertise in cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and IaC with Terraform/Ansible/Chef, plus strong scripting skills. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams in a hybrid work setup, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or a related role.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting in Bash or Python and IaC tools like Terraform/Ansible/Chef.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and system administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Manage and automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Implement and manage containerization platforms such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve reliability and scalability.
• Develop and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth application deployments.
