Job summary

Communicate Finance seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design industrial refrigeration systems in Centurion. You will perform heat load calculations, generate BOMs, and prepare technical documentation for multiple projects.

You will engage with clients and suppliers, support tender processes, and mentor junior engineers while focusing on safety, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial refrigeration system design.
• Proven experience producing complete refrigeration system designs from concept through implementation.
• Strong understanding of heat load calculations, equipment selection, and system integration.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, project specifications, and Bills of Materials.
• Familiarity with tendering processes and engineering project documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
• Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial refrigeration systems in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.

• Develop designs with a focus on safety, energy efficiency, performance, and cost optimization.
• Provide technical support to project teams throughout project execution.
• Attend client and consultant meetings and provide expert engineering recommendations.
• Perform system audits and compile technical reports.
• Support and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and remain informed on new technologies and industry developments.
