Placements24 is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our industrial services team in Richards Bay, South Africa. You will install, service, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and chillers, ensuring reliability and safety.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on experience, a valid trade qualification in refrigeration, and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

Certified Refrigeration Mechanic or equivalent trade qualification.
Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with commercial/industrial refrigeration.
Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles and diagnostic procedures.
Proficiency with specialized refrigeration tools and equipment.
Valid driver’s license and commitment to safety in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Install, service, and repair commercial/industrial refrigeration systems (walk-in coolers, freezers, chillers).
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in refrigeration cycles, compressors, and controls.
Evacuate, charge, and test refrigeration systems per environmental regulations.
Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints for accurate work.
Maintain detailed service records including parts used and future maintenance.
