Job summary

Old Mutual Limited in Cape Town seeks an senior leader to provide strategic and operational oversight of GAP death claims and Section 37C death-benefit administration. Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualification is required.
• At least 5 years' work experience in Financial Services/Death Claims.
• Knowledge of the Pension Funds Act, specifically Sections 37C, is preferable.
• Knowledge of Old Mutual processes, products and systems is advantageous.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities to manage multi-functional teams.
• Strong data interpretation, analytical insights and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills, with ability to model financial data and generate reports.
• Strong report-writing skills and understanding of retirement fund operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GAP death-claim validation, assessment, adjudication and payment processes.
• Lead Section 37C investigations and beneficiary tracing with governance controls.
• Manage budgets, reporting, risk and compliance within death-claims operations.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digitisation while ensuring fiduciary and policy compliance.
