Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and proactive Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join a security operations center in Pretoria. You will monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to threats across the IT infrastructure, helping safeguard data and systems.

The role requires deep expertise in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and strong analytical and communication skills. Hybrid work arrangement offers balance between office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar).
• Hands-on experience with network security, endpoint security, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Understanding of NIST and ISO 27001 compliance; relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, GCIH) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM and other tools to identify threats.
• Analyze security incidents with root cause analysis and impact assessment.
• Develop and execute incident response plans to contain and remediate threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Contribute to security policies, standards, and procedures.
