Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their cybersecurity team in a hybrid role based near Vereeniging, South Africa. You will monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security, triage incidents, analyse root causes, and contribute to SOC playbooks while staying updated on threats.

The role offers growth in a critical information security function with opportunities for overtime and professional training within a collaborative team.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 1–3 years in a cybersecurity role, preferably in a SOC.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms and other security technologies.
• Understanding of networking concepts and operating systems.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint tools.
• Analyze incidents, identify root causes, and escalate as needed.
• Triage alerts to distinguish true positives from false positives.
• Contribute to SOC playbooks and SOPs.
• Assist in incident investigations and data collection.
• Stay updated on cyber threats and trends.
