Placements24 is seeking a Lead Custodial Operations Manager in Cape Town, Western Cape, to oversee daily custodial operations across client facilities and lead a team of cleaning professionals to deliver outstanding service quality.

The role demands proven leadership, extensive experience in custodial or facilities management, and a focus on safety, efficiency and sustainability, with travel within the Cape Town metro as required.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in custodial, facilities, or cleaning operations, with at least two in a supervisory role.
• Proven leadership to manage large teams and drive development.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Experience developing and implementing operating plans and quality control procedures.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with multi-priority handling.
• Excellent communication and client relations skills.
• Proficiency with scheduling, inventory, and reporting software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Cape Town metro.
• Facility Management or Business Administration qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily custodial operations across client facilities in Cape Town.
• Supervise, train, and mentor cleaning staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Develop and enforce cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards.
• Conduct inspections and evaluate performance of teams and facilities.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and machinery.
• Collaborate with clients to align service delivery with needs.
• Promote sustainable cleaning practices and technologies.
• Prepare operational reports with performance metrics and budgets.
• Act as primary contact for operational issues and resolve them efficiently.
