Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Vocational Training, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years in curriculum development within vocational/technical education.
• Experience designing curricula for trades or practical skills training.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise vocational training curricula in line with industry requirements and accreditation standards.
• Design lesson plans, activities, assessments and instructional materials for multiple trades.
• Collaborate with SMEs and instructors to ensure accuracy and practicality.

• Develop assessment tools to measure learner competency.
• Ensure materials are accessible, clear and engaging for diverse learners.

About the Role

Our client, a government-affiliated skills development agency, is seeking a Senior Curriculum Developer to create and update vocational training programs. This role requires the developer to work on-site at our Kimberley, Northern Cape facility. You will be responsible for designing curricula that meet industry standards and equip learners with essential practical skills for various trades. The ideal candidate has a strong background in vocational education, curriculum design principles, and a deep understanding of industry needs. You will collaborate with trade experts, instructors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of the training materials. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and instructors.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to work effectively on-site in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
• Knowledge of relevant vocational sectors in South Africa is advantageous.
• A portfolio of developed vocational curricula is desirable.
