Placements24 is seeking a Senior Corporate Legal Advisor for a fully remote role. You will provide strategic legal counsel on M&A, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and corporate restructuring, while leading due diligence, contract negotiations, and risk assessment to enable new business opportunities.

A high-caliber, autonomous legal professional with 8–10 years of post-qualification experience is required.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa or equivalent qualification.
• 8–10 years post-qualification experience, with a focus on corporate law, M&A, and business development support.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex transactions and negotiations.
• Excellent understanding of corporate finance, securities law, and contract law.
• Proven ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on business development opportunities, including M&A, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
• Lead and manage the legal aspects of due diligence for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex transaction agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
• Advise on corporate structuring and governance related to new ventures.
• Collaborate with business development, finance, and operations teams to achieve strategic goals.
• Manage legal risks associated with international expansion and new market entries.
• Stay updated on relevant corporate and commercial laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and stakeholders.
