Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Corporate Legal Advisor to support business development initiatives in a fully remote capacity. The role requires strategic advice on M&A, joint ventures, and partnerships, with leadership in due diligence and complex negotiations.

The ideal candidate has substantial post-qualification experience in corporate law, securities and contract law, and can operate autonomously across cross-functional teams while guiding governance for new ventures.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 8–10 years post-qualification experience with focus on corporate law, M&A and business development support.
• Proven ability to lead complex transactions and negotiations.
• Excellent understanding of corporate finance, securities law and contract law.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on business development opportunities including M&A, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
• Lead and manage due diligence for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex transaction agreements with risk mitigation.
• Advise on corporate structuring and governance for new ventures.
• Collaborate with business development, finance and operations to achieve strategic goals.
• Manage legal risks related to international expansion and new markets.
