Placements24 is seeking a proactive Corporate Legal Advisor in Benoni, Gauteng. You will provide comprehensive legal support across governance, compliance, and general commercial matters, working closely with the board and management to ensure compliance with South African law.

The role is office-based, full-time, and requires strong drafting and negotiation skills to support transactions and daily business operations.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or Advocate with at least 5 years post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law.
• Strong governance and compliance experience.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Independent worker with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Advise on corporate governance, board meetings, shareholder resolutions and compliance with the Companies Act.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements (service contracts, leases, procurement).
• Manage legal aspects of corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, disposals).
• Ensure compliance with POPIA and data protection laws.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear opinions.
• Assist in litigation management and dispute resolution.
