Qualifications

• LLM or JD from a reputable institution.
• Admission as Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in corporate law.
• At least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven expertise in governance, M&A, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the company's legal affairs, including corporate governance, contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide strategic legal counsel and guidance to the Board of Directors and executive management team.
• Develop and implement effective legal strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Manage and lead the in-house legal team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate major commercial agreements and corporate transaction documents.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across all jurisdictions.
• Oversee the management of litigation and dispute resolution processes.
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to minimize legal risks.
• Liaise with external legal counsel, regulators, and other stakeholders.
