Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with minimum 6 years post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial law.
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of South African company law, corporate governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to advise on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive corporate law advice including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Advise on corporate governance best practices and King IV compliance.
• Oversee regulatory compliance across business units.
• Conduct legal research on new legislation and precedents affecting the company.
• Represent the company in disputes, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Develop internal policies to minimize legal risks.
• Liaise with external counsel and stakeholders.
• Support company secretary functions and board meeting prep.
