Job summary

Dante Personnel is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer in the Western Cape to manage regulatory obligations within the financial services sector. The role focuses on FAIS compliance, regulatory reporting, and risk management, requiring strong attention to detail and integrity.

You will interact with senior management and regulators, oversee FICA/AML controls, and coordinate licensing submissions including S13B where applicable.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years’ regulatory compliance experience in financial services.
• FAIS registered Compliance Officer for a Category I FSP is essential.
• Experience with FICA/AML compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Engagement with senior management and regulators; RE1/RE5 beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor the regulatory compliance program.
• Coordinate FSCA submissions and licensing activities.
• Liaise with regulators and senior management on compliance matters.
• Drive compliance projects to completion and ensure timely reporting.

Job description

Minimum requirements:

• 5–8 years’ relevant regulatory compliance experience within financial services, asset management, fund services, investment management or a closely related environment.
• FAIS registered Compliance Officer for a Category I FSP — essential.
• Strong practical experience with FAIS compliance, monitoring and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with FICA / AML compliance, ideally including MLRO responsibilities and FIC reporting.
• Exposure to Section 13B of the Pension Funds Act, including S13B regulatory/licensing submissions — highly relevant.
• Experience liaising with the FSCA and managing regulatory submissions/licensing requirements.
• RE1 and RE5 — beneficial.
• Degree or relevant post-graduate qualification — essential.
• Strong understanding of regulatory monitoring, compliance risk management and regulatory change.
• Proven ability to operate independently, manage multiple regulatory requirements and drive compliance projects through to completion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior management and regulatory stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, reliability and attention to detail.
