Qualifications

• LLB degree required and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of SA.
• At least 5 years’ post-admission experience in commercial litigation.
• Proven track record in complex commercial disputes.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence law.
• Excellent analytical, written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage demanding caseloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of commercial litigation from initiation to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and court documents.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trials.
• Advise on legal risks and potential litigation outcomes.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and ADR methods.
• Conduct discovery, including document review and depositions.
• Liaise with clients, experts and opposing counsel.
• Stay current with developments in commercial litigation.
