The ideal candidate has at least 6 years' post-admission experience, an LL.B, strong advocacy, and excellent legal research and drafting skills to advise clients and lead complex litigation strategy in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation.
• LL.B degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience in handling a wide range of commercial disputes.
• Strong advocacy skills, with experience appearing in court.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing abilities.
• Proficiency in drafting complex legal documents and managing discovery processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote and in-office responsibilities.
• Strong client management and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the Gauteng legal landscape is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation from inception to resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Represent clients in civil courts, tribunals, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to build strong cases.
• Draft pleadings, applications, notices, and other court documents with precision.
• Engage in effective negotiation and settlement discussions on behalf of clients.
• Advise clients on dispute resolution strategies and potential outcomes.
• Cross-examine witnesses and present arguments persuasively in court.
• Stay updated on procedural rules and substantive law relevant to commercial litigation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear and timely communication.
