Job summary

iStore Finance seeks an experienced Collections Manager to lead our end-to-end arrears operations across early-, mid-, and late-stage delinquency. You will supervise internal collectors and external agencies, driving recoveries with a fair, compliant, customer-focused approach.

Based at 1 Sandton Drive, Johannesburg, you will collaborate with Credit Risk, Finance, Customer Experience and IT to optimise strategies, monitor performance and deliver high-quality outcomes for our customers.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years' experience in collections or related operations.
• 2–3 years' experience managing a team of collectors.
• Experience with external debt collection agencies.
• Advanced Excel skills and MI/reporting ability.
• Strong knowledge of SA credit and collections regulations (NCA/POPIA).
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the internal Collections team and set targets for recovery, productivity and quality.
• Own end-to-end arrears collections lifecycle across early-, mid-, late-stage delinquency.
• Manage activities across inbound, outbound and digital channels.
• Oversee payment arrangements, PTP processes and plan compliance.
• Manage relationships with external debt collection agencies and SLAs.
• Collaborate with Finance, Credit Risk, Legal/Compliance and IT.
• Produce daily/weekly/monthly MI and drive data-driven collection strategies.
• Ensure compliant, fair and customer-focused collections interactions.
